Microsoft Surface Phone: Everything You Need To Know About Windows 10 Phone
Microsoft Surface Phone:
The Windows 10 powered Surface Phone from Microsoft has been in the rumors for such long time. Microsoft Surface is a long-awaited and desperately needed the phone since last year. Though there is no official indication from the Microsoft about the Surface Phone of becoming a reality, the latest rumors made the device to worth await. It has been rumored for so long now it seems that even Microsoft thinks it’s a good idea to now introduce a new phone.
Microsoft have not a real history about smartphones; instead we see it struggling. And we see it struggling to acquire any meaningful amount of market shares with titans like iPhone, Google, and Samsung currently dominating the market area.
Let’s see what it brings with it.
Microsoft Surface phone will have three distinct variants. A report suggests that these are
- Consumer Edition
- Business Edition
- Enthusiast Edition
So it could considered that a first one would be a reasonably priced flagship, the second would be a Blackberry replacement, and the third will be a power user device just like Samsung’s Galaxy Note phones.
It is also rumored that it would be a whole metal-aesthetic adopted body, just like Surface Book. Micro is also working hard to make it compatible just like the Surface Series are considered to be.
It is also rumored that Microsoft Surface reportedly will follow the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy smartphones with a high-end aluminum and magnesium uni-body.
The leaked news suggests that the device will have a very sleek and slim brick like the design much like phones present today.
The new phone may have USB Type-C port, a fingerprint scanner, and Microsoft Surface Pen peripheral.
As mentioned earlier that these phones will come in three different versions. The difference based on the storage and memory.
- Version 1: 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage
- Version 2: 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage
- Version 3: 8GB RAM/ 512GB storage
Now the third one sounds beast. But we have experienced that iPhone has recently introduced iPhone 7 Plus with 256GB storage, and we also saw that OnePlus 3T featured the 6GB RAM. So this is not awkward that why Microsoft is giving such a huge space. And moreover, that micro SD card may boost up the already huge storage.
Microsoft is also planning to use Octa-core processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 power to smartphones chipset. Which means that we’ll have 40% less power consumption and 25% high-performance depending what the manufacturer do with Snapdragon 835.
It also has a big 5.5inch or 5.7inch AMOLED display with Multi-touch Corning Gorilla glass for protection. It also has 534 PPI (Pixel per Inch) with 1440 x 2560 pixel QHD resolution.
The GPU system will be very efficient. It uses the Adreno 430 GPU for capturing 3D images to have a better result.
The phone will also support a single speaker on both top and bottom of the phone, and also in the middle for to a complete stereo sound.
It Might Support iOS & Android Apps
The latest rumor suggests that it might be able to support both iOS and Android apps on top their Windows apps. The Android apps can somehow be able to run the Windows app but are not sure about the iOS apps will be available outside of the Apple ecosystem.
It is also rumor that Surface camera can also provide PureView result on the back of the Surface phone. It is coming with the 16MP rear camera with 3D capturing and 8MP front camera. It also supports a humongous Carl Zeiss camera with Microsoft engraved near the LED flash. On the side of the screen, it also has three keys
- Volume Button
- Power Button
- Additional Button (it might be dedicate to camera)
At the bottom of the front screen, it has three touchscreens buttons
- Back (left key icon)
- Home (represented by the Windows logo)
- Recent (represented by the lens icon)
The Microsoft Surface phone will run on Windows 10. And will keep be updating. It means that the Windows Phone isn’t going anywhere. It is rumor that the newest phone may support Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The device have also suggested to run 64-bit Windows 10 Mobile OS.
